The Old Town is renowned for its gorgeous Sino-Portuguese architecture and is home to an array of boutique cafes & guesthouses.
Where to stay
The heart of Phuket’s nightlife, Patong Beach is also home to the main shopping area and the island’s busiest beach. There are also a number of luxurious resorts located on the outskirts of Patong Beach, just a short taxi ride from the city centre.
Located just 25 minutes south of Patong Beach, Kata Beach offers a quieter alternative for travellers not looking to stay in the heart of Phuket’s nightlife.
Just south of Kata Beach, Karon Beach offers a similar quieter alternative to Patong Beach.
Just 20 minutes north of Patong Beach, Kamala Beach is another of Phuket’s larger resort areas and is home to some of the island’s nicest scenery.
Best time to visit
The best time to visit Phuket is during the cool, dry months between November & February. Monsoon season begins in mid-May and usually goes until October.

Phuket’s international airport offers direct flights from most cities in Asia as well as several cities in Europe & Australia.
